LT3380 Multioutput Power Management Solution with 4 Buck Switching and 3 LDO Linear Regulators with I2C FEATURESDESCRIPTION n Quad I2C Adjustable High Efficiency Step-Down The LT®3380 is a complete power management solution DC/DC Converters: 2.5A, 2.5A, 1.5A, 1.5A for advanced portable application processor-based sys- n Three 300mA LDO Regulators (Two Adjustable) tems. The device contains four synchronous step-down n Independent Enable Pin-Strap or I2C Sequencing DC/DC converters for core, memory, I/O, and system on- n Programmable Autonomous Power-Down Control chip (SoC) rails and three 300mA LDO regulators for low n Warnings and Faults noise analog supplies. An I2C serial port may be used n IRQ Pin and IRQ Status Register to control regulator enables, power-down sequencing, n Power Good Pin and Status Register output voltage levels, dynamic voltage scaling, operating n 150°C TJ Operation (LT3380H) modes, and status reporting. n Dynamic Voltage Scaling Regulator start-up is sequenced by connecting outputs to n Selectable 2.25MHz or 1.12MHz Switching Frequency enable pins in the desired order or via the I2C port. The n 12µA Standby Current LT3380 outputs may be sequenced off in one of four time n Side Wettable 40-Lead 6mm × 6mm QFN Package slots selected using I2C command registers. The device is available in a 40-lead 6mm × 6mm QFN with APPLICATIONS wettable flanks for optical inspection. n Automotive All registered trademarks and trademarks are the property of their respective owners. n Industrial n Communications n General Purpose Multichannel Power Supplies TYPICAL APPLICATION 1µH Start-Up Sequence SW1 2.5A 2.7V TO 5.5V VIN 1.7V TO VIN VIN_L1 FB_B1 47µF PWR_ON 300mA LDO1 5V/DIV LT3380 LDO1 1µF FB_L1 1µH SW2 2.5A LDO2 1V/DIV FB_B2 47µF 1.7V TO V BUCK1 AND BUCK2 IN VIN_L2 300mA LDO2 BUCK3 1µH 1µF FB_L2 SW3 1.5A BUCK4 1V/DIV FB_B3 47µF 1.8V TO VIN VIN_L3 3380 TA01b 1.8V 1ms/DIV 1µH 300mA LDO3 SW4 1.5A 1µF FB_B4 47µF 2 1.6V TO 5.5V DVDD I2C 7 ENABLES IRQ PWR_ON PGOOD 3380 TA01a Rev. 0 Document Feedback For more information www.analog.com 1 Document Outline Features Applications Typical Application Description Absolute Maximum Ratings Order Information Pin Configuration Electrical Characteristics Typical Performance Characteristics Pin Functions Block Diagram Operation Introduction Step-Down Switching Regulators Slewing DAC Reference Operation Power On Sequencing Power Off Sequencing Fault Detectionand Reporting I2C Operation Applications Information Thermal Considerations and Board Layout Typical Applications Package Description Typical Application Related Parts
