The principles of constant V/Hz control for AC Induction motor and space vector PWM technique are reviewed. Two different implementations are presented. Implementation issues such as command voltage generation, switching pattern determination, speed measurement and scaling are discussed. Experimental data are shown. Full programs are attached in the appendices.

The Motor Control industry is a strong aggressive sector. Each industry to remain competitive, must reduce costs but also has to answer to power consumption reduction and EMI radiation reduction issues imposed by governments and power plant lobbies. The results of these constraining factors are the need of enhanced algorithms. DSP technology allows to achieve both, a high level of performance as

The DSP Controller TMS320F240 from Texas Instruments is suitable for a wide range of motor drives. TMS320F240 provides a single chip solution by integrating on-chip not only a high computational power but, also, all the peripherals necessary for electric motor control. The main benefits are increased system reliability and cost reduction of the overall system. The present application note describ
