- Fast Settling Low-Pass FilterPDF, 101 Kb, Datei veröffentlicht: Sep 27, 2000
Noise reduction by filtering is the most commonly used method for improving signal-to-noise ratio. The increase in settling time, however, can be a serious disadvantage in some applications such as high-speed data acquisition systems. The nonlinear filter described here is a simple way to get a four-to-one improvement in settling time as compared to a conventional filter. - OPA627, OPA637 EMI Immunity Performance (Rev. - Improved Device Noise Performance For the 3650 Isolation AmplifierPDF, 28 Kb, Datei veröffentlicht: Sep 27, 2000
The 3650 is an optically coupled, differential input, isolation amplifier having programmable gain. Noise for the 3650 is specified to 4u Vrms (typ) on the input stage of the isolation barrier and 65u Vrms (typ) on the output stage. The gain of the 3650 is controlled using exernal resistors on the input stage. In low gains, the noise performance of the 3650 is dominated by the output stage noise f - Composite Op Amp Gives You The Best of Both WorldsPDF, 32 Kb, Datei veröffentlicht: Sep 27, 2000
Classical op amps such as the OPA627 have excellent performance in applications where the required gain bandwidth is low compared to the gain-bandwidth product of the op amp. However, increasing closed-loop gain decreases the error-reducing loop gain. Furthermore, starting at relatively low frequencies, the loop gain rolls-off at 20dB/decade of signal frequency increase. In combination these effec - Comparison of Noise Performance of FET Transimpedence Amp/Switched IntegratorPDF, 66 Kb, Datei veröffentlicht: Sep 27, 2000
Low-input current FET operational amplifiers are universlly used to monitor photodetector, or more commonly photodiode currents. These photodetectors bridge the gap between a physical event, light, and electronics. There are a variey of amplifier configurations to select from and the choice is based on noise, bandwidth, offset, and linearity. A considerable amount has been written on the performan - Compensate Transimpedance Amplifiers Intuitively (Rev. A)PDF, 69 Kb, Revision: A, Datei veröffentlicht: Mar 30, 2005
Transimpedance amplifiers are used to convert low-level photodiode currents to usable voltage signals. All too often, the amplifiers have to be empirically compensated to operate properly. The problem can be easily understood if one looks at all the elements involved. - Noise Analysis for High Speed Op Amps (Rev. A)PDF, 256 Kb, Revision: A, Datei veröffentlicht: Jan 17, 2005
As system bandwidths have increased an accurate estimate of the noise contribution for each element in the signal channel has become increasingly important. Many designers are not however particularly comfortable with the calculations required to predict the total noise for an op amp or in the conversions between the different descriptions of noise. Considerable inconsistency between manufactu
